The first step is for the team to agree to and write down team goals for the 3 - 12 months.

A team is a group of people that comes together to achieve results together that they can not achieve on their own.


For this exercise, you can use the Teamscope Goal Alignment tool or do it manually with post-it notes.

  1. Set team goals
    For every participant separately: Write down 1 - 3 most important goals you have for the next 3 - 12 months?

  2. Goal grouping and review
    Collect all the goals and try to sort them into thematically similar goal groups. Choose 1 - 3 goal groups and come up with an over-arching goal for each goal group - this will be your team goal(s).

The outcome is 1 - 3 team goals that everyone in the team agrees with. Good goals are S.M.A.R.T - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound.
